Some orientalists emphasize on the inconsistency between the historical accounts of the Quran and the historical accounts of other holy books, including the Bible. One of the instances is the supposition that the Quranic account of the dwellers in the Thicket, people of Midian and their prophet, ''Shu'aib'' (a) is considered a historical fault. Using a descriptive-analytical method, the author criticizes the orientalists' claim and concludes that the false claim that the Quran has made a mistake is rejected, citing evidence to back up his idea, and the Quranic account of Midian conforms with that of Bible. The proofs indicate that Midian and Thicket are located in different places and that Shu'aib was from Midian but he was selected to deliver his message to these two places. Midian and Thicket were in the western north of Arabian niemimaa at the side of Hijaz- Sham highway در آیاتی از قرآن کریم درباره‌ی رویدادهای گذشته، سرنوشت پیامبران، اقوام و شخصیت های پیشین و دیگر امور تاریخی سخن گفته شده است. برخی خاور شناسان بر تعارض اخبار تاریخی قرآن با گزاره های تاریخی کتب دیگر، از جمله کتاب مقدس تأکید می  ورزند. یکی از این موارد، ادعای خطای تاریخی درباره‌ی اصحاب ایکه، اهل مدین و پیامبر آنان حضرت شعیب علیه السلام است. این مقاله با روش توصیفی ـ تحلیلی، ادعای خاور شناسان را در این باره نقد و بررسی کرده و به این نتیجه رسیده است که ادعای خطای قرآن به ادله‌ی متقن مردود است و قصه‌ی قرآنی مدین با کتاب مقدس همخوانی دارد. ادله و شواهد، از تعدد مکانی مدین و ایکه حکایت دارند و حضرت شعیب از اهالی مدین بوده، ولی در هر دوجا به نبوت مبعوث شده است. مدین و ایکه در جهت شمال غربی جزیرةالعرب در کنار بزرگ راه حجاز به شام بوده اند. https://qoranshenakht.nashriyat.ir/sites/qoranshenakht.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/1_7.pdf
