Among these people, James Bellamy can be mentioned who has attempted to readout some parts of the Holy Quran, having the same presupposition. James Bellamy's multiple researches on reforming the vocabulary of the Quran have made him to be considered as one of the pundit Orientalists in this field. The word “أبّا” in the verse “وَفَاکهَةً و أبّاً” (`Abasa, 31), is one of the words that James Bellamy has considered it obscure and an error in reading or writing of the word “لبّا”, that the hand error of the scriber has mistakenly recorded that. The reasons cited by him to prove this claim are that, the word “أبّا” is a Takāmad word (meaning it has only been mentioned once in the Quran), and also the dispute between the commentators on its meaning, and the disproportion of “أبّا” with the style of the verses, and appropriateness of “لبّا” with the style of the verses, is desired; therefore, in this article, these reasons are being reviewed and criticized تعدادی از مستشرقان، چندی است با پیش فرض وقوع خطا در مصحف عثمانی، به دنبال اصلاحات و تغییراتی در متن قرآن کریم برآمده اند. از جمله این افراد، جیمز بلمی است که با همین پیش فرض سعی در بازخوانی فقراتی از قرآن داشته است. تعدد تحقیقات جیمز بلمی در مورد اصلاح واژگان قرآن، وی را به عنوان یکی از مستشرقان صاحب نظر در این حوزه مطرح کرده است. واژۀ «أبّا» در آیۀ «وَفَاکهَةً و أبّاً» (عبس:31)، از جمله واژگانی است که جیمز بلمی آن را نامفهوم و تصحیفی از واژۀ «لبّا» دانسته که خطای دست کاتب آن را اشتباه ثبت کرده است. دلایل مورد استناد وی در اثبات این مدّعا، تکامد بودن «أبّا»، اختلاف نظر مفسران در مورد معنای آن، عدم تناسب «أبّا» با سیاق آیات و تناسب بیشتر واژۀ «لبّا» با سبک و سیاق آیۀ مورد نظر است که در مقالۀ پیش رو این دلایل نقد و بررسی شده اند. https://qoranshenakht.nashriyat.ir/sites/qoranshenakht.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/3_17.pdf
