Therefore, one of the most effective ways of interpreting the Quran is using a historical approach to studying it. This article examines the question of “charity”, using thematic interpretation and a historical approach. This paper first examines history books and the poetry of the Jahiliyya (Age of Ignorance), the living and economic conditions of the people of that era and the culture of that society in the context of charity, and then, considering the Quranic verses about charity according to the order and time of revelation, it investigates the step-by-step process of the cultural and legislative development in this regard. Displaying such characteristics like the benevolence and generosity of Arabs, the Quran, during the twenty-three-year revelation could make that society gradually get out of such villains as boasting, bigotry, extravagance, etc. and give it a color of monotheism and affection for others قرآن در یک دورۀ تاریخی و طی 23 سال، در پی مقتضیات مربوط به عصر رسالت پیامبر صلی الله علیها و آله نازل شده است. ازاین رو، یکی از شیوه های کارآمد در تفسیر قرآن، مطالعۀ آن با رویکرد تاریخی است. در این نوشتار که از شیوۀ تفسیر موضوعی و رویکرد تاریخی بهره برده، موضوع انفاق بررسی گردیده است. ابتدا با بررسی کتب تاریخی و اشعار جاهلی، وضعیت معیشتی و اقتصادی مردم عصر نزول و فرهنگ حاکم بر آن جامعه در زمینۀ انفاق شناسایی شده؛ سپس با دقت در آیات مربوط به انفاق، بر اساس ترتیب نزول و زمان نزول، و سیر تدریجی و گام به گام قرآن برای فرهنگ سازی و قانون گذاری در این زمینه بررسی گردیده است. قرآن در طی23 سال نزول تدریجی، توانست ضمن بهره گیری از خصلت سخاوت و کرم اعراب، به تدریج رذایلی همچون فخرفروشی، تعصب، اسراف و... را از آن جامعه بزداید و به آن رنگ توحیدی و دگردوستی ببخشد.  https://qoranshenakht.nashriyat.ir/sites/qoranshenakht.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/5_18.pdf
