    Abstract:
The concept of "movement" and its related terms—such as "migration" (hijra), "exodus" (khurūj), and "journeying" (sayr)—occupy a foundational position in the Quranic worldview; however, their examination has largely remained confined to traditional exegetical frameworks. In contrast, the theory of the "new mobilities paradigm" in contemporary social sciences has highlighted the spatial, social, and identity dimensions of human movement. The absence of an interdisciplinary approach has prevented the conceptual potential of sacred texts from being properly revealed in dialogue with contemporary theories. This study poses the question: How can the concept of "movement" in the Quran be reexamined in light of contemporary mobility theories? To this end, relevant verses were identified through qualitative analysis and examined on the basis of exegetical works; the data were then analyzed utilizing John Cresswell's framework of the "dimensions of movement" and Mimi Sheller's concept of "mobility justice." The findings indicate that within the Quranic worldview, movement is comprehensible in five principal types: physical, identity-based, spiritual, historical-social, and cosmic. Thus, the Quran presents movement not merely as physical displacement but as a multilayered and structuring element in human experience and cosmic order.
